From that day forward we were able to pay our bills. The debts started shrinking. I could take care of my family. And we were able to give more to others.
Today we have more than enough money to buy whatever we want. We are able to give generously to our church and the poor. Our investment accounts are continually growing. Even our mortgage is completely paid off. And it is all thanks to God and what He has done for us…
It was simple. And it came from James 1:5, “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.”
Standing on that scripture, I decided to quit praying for money…and start praying for wisdom instead.
The truth is wisdom brings wealth with it (II Chronicles 1:12, Proverbs 4:7-8, Proverbs 8:11, Proverbs 24:3-4).
From that day forward, I quit praying for money. I started praying for wisdom, and we haven’t had a problem with money since.
Step-by-step the Lord led us with wisdom…how to get out of debt, how to increase our income, and how to start our own very profitable businesses.
It wasn’t instantaneous and it didn’t happen overnight, but we hit a breakthrough the moment we changed how we were praying. We moved forward instead of backwards. The debts were paid instead of piling up. Our attitude about money and wealth changed.
Yet, there are millions of good, hard working Christians who do that, but they can’t seem to get ahead. I understand. I’ve been there. I was a giver when I was broke and in debt…and I’m still a giver today.
In most churches you only hear part of the story. You hear about giving, but you don’t hear about the other elements that are essential to receive God’s blessings on your finances.
And it’s not because anyone is purposely holding back information. I don’t believe they are. It’s simply because most ministers don’t know what YOU need to do to receive God’s blessings.
They’re called to be in the ministry. God’s will for them is to be supported by the ministry. They’re given “miracle” checks and offerings that take care of their needs. The majority of believers are not in full-time ministry, so God’s plan to meet your needs and supply abundance to you is different.
In all my life…and in all my giving…never once has anyone walked up to me and handed me a check to help with my bills. I have ministered at churches and have received offerings, but they have never been a major source of income for me.
My income and my financial freedom came from my business. That’s my calling in life…a Christian entrepreneur. You might be called to the same. Or you might be called to work your job joyfully as a “marketplace minister.”
God’s supply for you will come through blessing your job, your business, or your investments. He wants to give you knowledge of witty inventions and bless you at everything you put your hand to.
And He has so much more for you than you’ve ever imagined before. For example, while I’ve never received that “miracle check,” I’ve been blessed to have given them to others many times.
The last thing you need right now is to simply be told, “Have faith, God will supply for you.”
You’ve probably heard that enough that it grates your ears just hearing it. Yes, it’s true. You need faith in God. But you also need to know what to do daily to walk in God’s will for your life.
You need practical answers…and proven easy-to-follow methods you, as a regular believer, can use to receive financial freedom in your life.
It feels wonderful to be free from debt…to be able to serve God not just believing, but knowing all your bills are already paid. Free to serve the Lord…Give to those in need…and Live the life God has truely intended us to have.
