Article In 2008 I was one of the bankers and analysts around the world laid off after the collapse of the secondary market. Like many, I chose to go to graduate school but instead of pursuing my MBA, like many of my former colleagues, I leapt into the dark and went for my Masters in Fine Arts. I had the good fortune to attend Otis College of Art and Design in Los Angeles and become part of an inspired and creative community of writers and artists. One of these creators I met was Linda Lay. Linda is a consummate artist, constantly engaged in numerous creative processes from writing to design. Linda was kind enough to give WHITS an interview about her recent participation in LA Fashion Week and the inspiration behind her unique “deconstruction” designs.
A graduate of NYU’s Tisch School of the arts, Lowes’s past includes a heavy theater background, a handful of films, as well as guest-starring roles on some of television’s biggest shows, including: The Soprano’s, Castle, NCIS, The Closer, and Leverage. In what one can say was almost like a foreshadowing to her future, Lowes first entered the world of “Shonda-land” television when she guest-starred on both Grey’s Anatomy and Private Practice.
Use a craft knife to cut the image to size and reduce the excesses. Now peel the backing of the glass window cling and place it on the window. It is a good idea to clean the window completely to remove any dirt and then slightly moisten the window before applying the glass window cling. Make sure that you smoothen out the edges of the cling as you apply it so as to remove any bubbles or wrinkles beneath the cling.
Tubing. For entertainment centers and computer stations where there are a lot of cords, try to start fresh by untangling the cords and smoothing them out. Then use pipe cover (foam insulator or flexible plastic) that has been sliced lengthwise to allow the cords to be hidden inside all the way from the device to the wall. This is also a good time to plug the cords into a power bar to prevent power surges and fires. For flat screen TVs, you can purchase special plastic molding that will contain the cords and can be painted to match your walls.
I have a semi-strict schedule. I constantly have at least five projects in front of me, and that way I can pick one up and work on it no matter where I am or what else I’ve got going on. I don’t like to waste time. I guess to a certain extent I follow my inspiration, but inspiration very quickly turns into a project. It’s important that I develop my parameters of each project. I never ever say, it’s time to write this or that time every day. I’m over laying guilt on myself. Yoga taught me that.
Now, the first step is to cut the bookmark shape out of the card stock. Go ahead and make a nice big bookmark, not one of those tiny things! 3 inches by 7 inches is a great size, but you can go even larger if you want!
