Do not follow fad diets, or any diet plan for that matter. Diets are temporary, but you need your weight loss to be permanent. Thus it is best to skip the newest craze and focus on switching over to healthy eating habits. Minimize portion sizes, eat many different foods, and make an effort to eat foods in as close to their natural state as achievable. For example, a carrot is superior for your health than a piece of carrot cake with cream cheese frosting. Now, you are able to still appreciate that piece of cake, but just take a smaller portion than you typically would. Center your diet plan around entire grains, lean protein, and fresh fruits and vegetables.

With that said, please know that I have not said that every self-defense or martial arts instructor is full of it. Just that you must know what you need and make sure that that’s what you’re getting. Remember – you’re not buying a couch that you can take back. A mistake in this area could literally cost you your life!

One solution is to find a fitness club that you can join, where dues must be paid every month. If you don’t show up, you’re wasting money and there’s no getting around it. Another form of accountability is by working out with a friendly group of people.

Spinach pizza and spinach dip are also phenomenal (and I hate spinach on its own).
