My name is Paul and I am a fully qualified Advanced Personal Trainer with many years’ experience in the fitness industry.  I’ve been passionate about fitness from an early age so it was a logical career choice for me.

In addition to the fitness side of training my clients, I have helped them to lose weight successfully with my comprehensive knowledge of nutrition.  In fact, it was one of my Personal Training clients who suggested I expand my portfolio by offering my services online….hence the creation of the Total Weight Loss Pack.

I have combined my knowledge of fitness and nutrition with the experience gained from helping numerous clients lose weight to produce the Total Weight Loss Pack.

#1   Stay hydrated…..often, dieters concentrate solely on their food intake and neglect their water consumption.  Aim for 6-8 glasses of water per day.  Not only will it help control hunger pangs but it will also keep you feeling energised, improve concentration and work wonders on your complexion.

#2   Learn to love fats…..many dieters wrongly believe that in order to lose weight they should cut out all fats.  This is not only FALSE but doing so will seriously hinder your weight loss.  Fats are an essential part of our diets.  The key is to know which fats are GOOD and which are BAD.

#3   Keep a record…..keeping a record of what you eat/drink has been proven time after time to improve your chances of success.

Chances are, like many dieters, you will have spent hundreds of $ over the years on slimming aids and miracle diets.

The Total Weight Loss Pack promotes a natural and healthy balanced diet.  If you are looking for a miracle diet, weight loss pill or a quick fix then you are in the wrong place.  I pride myself on having never promoted such things.  In summary, the Total Weight Loss Pack:

Sadly, there are no quick fixes or miracle solutions when it comes to losing weight.  In order to succeed you need to be motivated and stick with it until you reach your goal weight.  My clients often told me that what stopped them losing weight before working with me was the sheer enormity of it.  I took this insight on-board when creating the Total Weight Loss Pack.

Module 1:  Food Diaries & Goal Setting – One of the most important tasks before you even start to monitor your food intake is to set goals.  Where people often come unstuck is that the goals they set are non-specific (eg. I want to lose weight) or unrealistic (I want to lose a stone in 2 weeks).

I will take you through the setting of S.M.A.R.T goals that are both specific and achievable.  The second step is to start keeping a food diary.  The benefits of noting everything which you eat or drink are well known in the fitness industry.

I will provide you with a Food Diary template and give detailed guidance on how to fill it in correctly – there is more to a food diary than you may think.

Module 2: Meal Planning – I will provide you with a Meal Planner template and explain how best to plan your meals for the week ahead.  There are enormous benefits to planning your meals in advance – you will save both time and money by pre-planning meals.

Many of my Personal Training clients have commented that they find it easier to stick with a healthy, well balanced diet if they have a Meal Planner to stick to.

Module 3:  Healthy Eating for Success – The 9 chapters of this module contain a breakdown of the information I give to my clients prior to them starting a weight loss program with me.

They include being prepared, involving the family, eating out, variety, healthy eating guidelines and a quick quiz to assess your current eating habits.

Module 4:  Getting Your Essentials – In this module there is a chapter for each of the 4 main essential nutrients (carbohydrates, proteins, fats and vitamins & minerals).  For each nutrient I begin by explaining their main role/use in the body.

I then break them down into their sub-categories and discuss the best sources of each type of nutrient.  Although water and fiber are not classed as essential nutrients they are vitally important in a healthy diet so I have included a chapter on each.

Module 5:  Portion Control & Making the Right Choices – If asked how best to lose weight, the majority of people would say to count calories but how many of us can honestly say they understand calories?  That’s why I have included a chapter dedicated to understanding calories and the calorific values of carbohydrates, proteins and fats.

Do you know how many calories you need to be eating each day?  While the health authorities may have recommended values, these are very generalised and are not based on your personal needs.  Included in this module is a worksheet to help you work out how many calories YOU need per day and also what percentage of this total should be consumed in the form of carbs, protein and fats.

There is a lot of conflicting advice on portion control/size so I have used this module to look at the pros and cons of the Eat Well Plate, Glycaemic Index and Food Pyramid to give you an insight into the differing methods.

The module finishes with a look at food labelling and the many hidden tricks to watch out for when doing your weekly grocery shop!
